The best time to make use of holiday specials

Finding some great holiday specials is enough to make anyone pack their bags right away and find the nearest airport. However, sometimes great holiday specials could leave you disappointed if you don’t take a few important facts into consideration. Timing is probably one of the most important factors to consider.

When is the best time to travel in Africa?

Your needs and requirements will determine which holiday specials you should choose when travelling to other parts of Africa. Specific events, such as the migration of wildebeest in Kenya or flamingo migration in Botswana, occur at certain times of the year. If you are interested in game-viewing, it is important to remember that some game reserves have particularly good sightings of certain animals at different times of the year. Winter is generally the best time to view game, as the grass is dry and there is not a lot of vegetation. However, summer is better for birding, observing plant life and for great weather.

When is the best time to travel to Australia?

The sheer size of Australia, especially the Australian Outback, means that several different climatic zones are encompassed. The arid regions of the Australian Outback should be visited in winter when days are warm and mostly sunny. Northern Australia has a tropical climate and can be very hot and humid in summer. Therefore, winter is the best time to explore this part of the country. Summer is the best time to visit Australia’s southern states, including New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Most travel agents do, however, advise travellers to skip Australia from Boxing Day up to the end of January, when Australians go on their summer vacation. No matter how good the holiday specials may sound, navigating the crowds are just not worth it!

When is the best time to travel to Europe?

Once again, the reason for your trip will determine when you should go. European summers are generally warm and dry. However, many tourists descend on Europe from all over the world for this very reason. Skiing enthusiasts would undoubtedly prefer going to Europe in winter to take advantage of the many excellent ski resorts. Most travel agents, however, recommend the months of April, May, September and October, when school vacations have not yet started.

When is the best time to travel to South East Asia?

There are often great holiday specials to be found to this region and it is certainly a worthwhile destination. It is important, however, to remember that South East Asia is usually hot and sticky for most of the year. Seasonal monsoons are another element to consider when making travel arrangements. The whole region has a tropical climate, with Singapore, southern Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia being the hottest as it is closest to the equator. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and northern parts of Thailand are slightly cooler. November to February is the most popular time for tourists from the Northern Hemisphere, who seek to escape cold winter climates. It is therefore a very busy time of year.
Travelling is always a wonderful and fun experience. Keeping in mind your main reason for travelling and what you hope to gain from your trip will help you to decide when to make use of great holiday specials.
